Moscow says to lift lockdown, digital passes from Tuesday

MOSCOW, Jun 8 (PRIME) -- Moscow will lift the lockdown and obligatory digital passes for people from Tuesday, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog on Monday.

"The pandemic has been decreasing for several weeks, slowly but steadily. The number of new contagion cases is falling, more people are checking out of hospitals than in… Moscow has been in fact returning to normal life. The key restrictions will be removed in June if the epidemiological safety remains and sanitary measures are taken," Sobyanin said.

The city will allow hairdressers' and beauty salons, photo studios, animal hospitals and headhunter agencies to resume operations on Tuesday, Sobyanin said. Libraries, realtor and consulting agencies will restart work on June 16. Car sharing services will also be allowed to work from Tuesday. Fitness clubs and other sports establishments will restart operations on June 23.

Restaurants will be launched in two stages with the summer terraces  starting work on June 16 and the indoor eateries a week after that, he said.

The conditions can be changed, depending on the epidemiologic situation.
